Recovery of collateral for lenders and leasing companies. Assignment intake and verification of the right to repossess, locating, the legal standard of breach of the peace and what conduct crosses it, self-release wheel lift and dolly operation, personal property inventory and return, storage and redemption notice, and documentation sufficient to survive a wrongful repossession claim.

More instructional time is spent on breach of the peace than on equipment. A recovery agent who does not understand it will generate litigation for the lender, which is the principal reason lenders decline to work with an agent.

Graduates work for recovery agencies and lender-direct programs. The occupation involves approaching strangers about property they do not wish to surrender, at hours when they are home.
