The College’s teams compete as the Drovers, a nickname adopted in 1963 by vote of the student body in reference to the stock routes that ran through Tolliver Township to the Massillon rail head in the nineteenth century. The College sponsors nine sports. Schedules, rosters, and results are published at /athletics/schedule and on the individual team pages.

Equestrian program

The Drover Equestrian Program is not an intercollegiate team. It is a non-competing exhibition and demonstration unit operating from Barn Complex B, performing at county fairs, parades, and College events. Membership is open to students enrolled in Division of Animal and Agricultural Sciences programs. Animals enrolled in Mounted Patrol Equine Conditioning are not eligible to participate.

Facilities

Home indoor events are held at Drover Court, Wing A. Drover Court is a designated Tolliver County emergency shelter; athletic scheduling yields to shelter activation. Cross country competes on the Perimeter Course, which is open to public walkers dawn to dusk except during scheduled competition. The rifle team uses the Sub-Level Range. The weight room, Room A-204, is open to enrolled students during posted hours; team training blocks are posted at the door.

Eligibility and participation

Student-athletes must meet NJCAA academic eligibility standards, including enrollment in at least 12 credit hours during the season of competition and satisfactory progress toward a credential. Eligibility is certified by the Registrar before the first contest. A physical examination dated within one year, at the student’s expense, and the required accident insurance ($95 per year) must be on file before the first practice. The athletic participation charge is $150 per sport, per season, as published in the Schedule of Charges. Transfer eligibility is governed by NJCAA rules; questions go to the Director of Athletics before enrollment, not after.

Consistent with NJCAA Division III rules, the College awards no athletic scholarships. The Drover Club Grant-in-Aid, administered by the Foundation, provides up to $500 to student-athletes in good standing, applied to fees and travel and not to tuition, per NJCAA DIII rules. See Scholarships.

Prospective student-athletes

Prospective student-athletes may complete the questionnaire at /athletics/recruits. Admission to the College and admission to a program of study are separate from athletic participation, and completion of the questionnaire creates no enrollment right and no roster position.
