Scholarships, Awards, and Fellowships

One application covers all Foundation awards. The application opens November 1 and closes March 1 for the following academic year; awards are announced by April 15 and are credited half per semester. There is no charge to apply. Awards require continued enrollment and satisfactory academic progress. Unless the fund agreement states otherwise, awards are not renewable automatically and require reapplication.

Endowed and named scholarships

| Ambrose Deeter Memorial Welding Award | $1,000 | Welding and fabrication students; selected by the shop faculty on bench work, not GPA, per the terms of the gift. Established 2013. |
| Wass Family Monument Trades Award | $1,500 | Students in Cemetery Grounds and Monument Services or the Memorial Ironwork concentration. Established 1998; the oldest active fund. |
| Loretta Mankin Award in Funerary Services | $1,000 | Funeral Service Technology students in the apprenticeship year. Established 2017. |
| Dahlgrave Family Award | $800 | A Funerary division student “who has shown particular care toward families served,” selected by division faculty. Established 2003. |
| Kalb Dairy Cooperative Scholarship | $750 | Traditional Dairy Processing students. Funded annually by the cooperative. |
| IBEW Local 573 Trades Pathway Award | $1,000 | Any Building division student; preference to dependents of members, then to all applicants. |
| Tolliver County Farm Bureau Award | $600 | Animal and Agricultural Sciences students residing in the county. Two awarded annually. |
| The Drover Club Grant-in-Aid | up to $500 | Student-athletes in good standing; applied to fees and travel, not tuition, per NJCAA DIII rules. |
| Rexford Julle Fund for Student Research | up to $1,500 | Biennial; administered by the Office of Applied Studies, separately from this application. Awarded 2022; not awarded 2024; 2026 cycle open. |
Donor-directed awards

| Anonymous Fund No. 7 | $1,000 | Students in the Division of Anomalous Property and Nonstandard Conditions. Established 2019 by a donor who declined naming recognition. The Foundation confirms the fund is in good standing and accepts no questions regarding the donor. |
| Pike Lanes Family Award | $400 | A bowling team member; selected by the head coach. The Foundation notes with appreciation that this is the only award in its history funded entirely in rolled coin. |
Field practicum fellowships
Fellowships are stipends supporting unpaid or under-compensated practicum placements. They are funded by employer partners under written agreements, selected by the faculty of the relevant program, and paid through the Foundation. Fellowship selection confers no employment rights with the sponsoring firm.
Glover, Mast & Purl LLP Fellowship in Site Inspection and Technical Reporting — $1,800. Two fellows annually from APS 280 (Field Practicum). Supports placements involving inspection documentation and written findings prepared to litigation standard. Fellows are supervised by College faculty; the sponsoring firm receives the fellow’s redacted practicum portfolio and nothing else. Established 2021.
Cordwell, Holloway & Feltner, LLP Fellowship in Condition Assessment — $1,500. One fellow annually from Enclosure Fabrication or, upon program commencement, Puppet and Articulated Figure Services, supporting practicum work in condition reporting and damage causation documentation. Established 2025; first awarded 2026 (M. Feld).
Aultman Sports Medicine Fellowship — $900. One fellow annually; plasma or health-adjacent program practicum in a clinical setting.
Emergency assistance grants
The Foundation also funds emergency assistance grants for enrolled students. These are not scholarships and are not made through the scholarship application. Grants may be applied to a security deposit, first month’s rent, a utility reconnection, or a hotel night; applications are made through the Office of the Dean of Students and are reviewed within two business days. The award limit is $600 per student per year. See If you do not have stable housing.
External scholarships
The Financial Aid office, Room A-108, ext. 2170, maintains a reviewed list of external scholarships. The College lists only providers that charge no application fee. Students are advised that no legitimate scholarship requires payment to apply, and are asked to report solicitations to the Financial Aid office, which forwards them to the Ohio Attorney General as a matter of routine.
