Textbooks and course materials
Required materials are listed by course section and posted before registration for each term, with ISBN and price, as required by federal disclosure rules. Used copies are stocked when available. Students are not required to purchase materials from the Bookstore.
Buyback is conducted during the final week of the fall and spring terms. Titles readopted for the following term are purchased at up to 50 percent of the new price, subject to condition and to the quantity the Bookstore expects to sell. Titles not readopted are purchased at the wholesale market price, which may be low or zero. Buyback is an offer, not an obligation; the Bookstore does not guarantee repurchase of any title.
Price match. The Bookstore matches the publisher’s direct list price on new textbooks at the time of sale, with documentation. It does not match marketplace sellers, used or rental prices, or prices offered after the date of purchase.
Returns. Course materials may be returned in original condition through the second week of the term with a receipt. Opened access codes, opened kits, and shrink-wrapped materials with the wrap removed are not returnable.
Program tools, kits, and footwear
The Bookstore stocks the approved tool kit for each program that requires one, and ASTM F2413 footwear in standard sizes. Kit contents and pricing appear in the “Required tools, equipment, and footwear” section of each program page. Students may supply their own tools if the items meet the program’s published specification; the program faculty determine whether a substitute meets specification.
Commencement regalia
Regalia is ordered through the Bookstore and is retained by the graduate. The charge is $42, as published in the Schedule of Charges. Orders must be placed by the date announced by the Registrar each spring; late orders are filled subject to supplier availability.
