Transportation

Bellweather College of Applied Technology is a commuter institution. Most students drive. This page covers parking, county transit, the ride board, and travel to the Aviation and Heavy Equipment Annex.

Parking

Student parking is in Lots 1 through 9, by permit, $40 per academic year as published in the Schedule of Charges. Lots 7 through 9 are assigned to shop and barn students. Permit purchase, lot assignments, citations, and appeals are described at Parking.

The village enforces its parking ordinance in winter for snow removal, and student vehicles left on village streets overnight have been towed. Overnight parking in College lots is not permitted; see the Student Code of Conduct, Section 9.4.

County transit

Tolliver County Transit Route 4 stops on Corliss Pike at the campus entrance. Service is weekdays only, approximately every 90 minutes, with no evening or weekend service. A bench is provided at the stop. Fares and the current schedule are available from the county transit office; printed schedules are available at the Office of the Dean of Students, Room A-130. Route 4 does not serve the Annex.

Ride board

The Commuter Council, a recognized student organization, operates a ride board in DroverNet for students sharing commutes. Postings are limited to enrolled students and employees. The College does not match riders, does not screen participants, and makes no representation as to any driver, vehicle, or arrangement. The Annex

The Aviation and Heavy Equipment Annex is 11 miles from the Corliss Pike campus, approximately 20 minutes by car. There is no shuttle between the campuses, and students provide their own transportation. Students enrolled at both locations in the same term should build travel time into their schedules and are advised to speak with an advisor before registering for back-to-back sections. Route 4 does not serve the Annex, and WDRO-LP does not reliably reach it; DroverAlert is the notification system of record for Annex personnel.

Other notes

• Rideshare service in the county is limited and cannot be relied upon for a scheduled class, a clinical assignment, or a barn shift.
• There is no passenger rail service in Tolliver County. The nearest intercity bus stop is in Canton.
• Bicycle racks are located at the main entrance and at the Shop Building. Corliss Pike is a two-lane county road without a shoulder for portions of its length.
