Housing

The College does not operate student housing.

Bellweather College of Applied Technology is a commuter institution. It owns no residence facility, leases none, operates no meal plan, and has no affiliation, agreement, or referral relationship with any apartment complex, landlord, or property manager. It has operated as a commuter institution since the closure of Tolliver House in 1991.

Students are responsible for arranging their own housing. The College provides the resources below as a convenience and makes no representation as to the condition, safety, legality, or suitability of any property, and no representation as to any landlord.

What the College provides

• Off-campus housing list — a directory of rental listings in Bellweather, Tolliver Township, and surrounding communities, compiled from public listings and updated monthly by the Office of Student Affairs. Inclusion is not a recommendation. The College removes a listing on request of any party and does not investigate the reason.
• Roommate board — a moderated board in DroverNet for students seeking to share housing. The College does not match students, does not screen participants, and advises students to meet in a public place and to execute a written agreement.
• Tenant rights information — Ohio Revised Code Chapter 5321 in summary, security deposit rules, and the Tolliver County Legal Aid intake line, (330) 555-0192.
• Commuter Council — a recognized student organization operating a ride board and advocating on parking, hours, and scheduling. Room A-136.

What the College does not provide

The College does not: guarantee housing; hold or forward mail for students; provide a mailing address for student use; sign, guarantee, or co-sign a lease; mediate landlord-tenant disputes; provide storage; permit overnight presence in College buildings or on College grounds; or represent that any listed property is suitable for any purpose.

Practical notes by program

Some programs carry scheduling obligations that students should weigh when choosing where to live.

• Animal and Agricultural Sciences. Students in HERP 240 and in the equine programs are responsible for daily animal care, including weekends and the Thanksgiving recess. Barn Complex B is checked at 6:00 a.m. daily. Students living more than 30 minutes from campus should discuss the schedule with the Division Chair before enrolling.
• Avian Deterrence. Instruction occurs outdoors between 5:00 a.m. and 9:00 a.m. at a site in Tolliver Township, not on campus.
• Funeral Service Technology. The apprenticeship is arranged by the student and may carry call obligations set by the apprenticeship site, not by the College.
• Movable Bridge and Lock Operation (pending approval). Field instruction includes hours between midnight and 6:00 a.m.
• Aviation and Heavy Equipment Annex. The Annex is 11 miles from the Corliss Pike campus. There is no shuttle. The Annex is served by well water and a septic system; restroom facilities are limited and there is no food service.
