Housing — frequently asked questions
Does the College have dormitories?
No. The College has not housed students since 1991.
Is there a waiting list?
No. There is no facility and therefore no list.
Can I live at the Annex?
No. The Annex is an instructional facility. It is not zoned, equipped, or permitted for residential occupancy. This question is addressed in the program information for Aviation and Heavy Equipment.
Can I stay overnight in a College building?
No. Overnight presence in College buildings and on College grounds is prohibited under the Student Code of Conduct, Section 9.4, without exception for weather, scheduling, or program obligation. The prohibition includes the Evaluation Bay, the Black Box, Barn Complex B, and vehicles parked in College lots. A student who has nowhere to go on a given night should contact the Dean of Students at ext. 2140 during business hours or Campus Safety at ext. 2911 at any staffed hour, and will not be disciplined for asking.
I have an early barn assignment and I live 40 minutes away. What do students do?
Most arrange to share housing closer to campus, or trade care shifts with classmates under an arrangement approved by the instructor. The Division office keeps an informal list of students willing to trade. Speak to the Division Chair before the term begins rather than after a missed assignment.
Does the College sponsor international students?
No. The College is not SEVP-certified and cannot issue Form I-20.
Is there a meal plan?
No. The Commons operates limited hours and there is no food service at the Annex. The Drover Pantry, Room A-141, is open to all enrolled students with no eligibility requirement.
Will the College ever build housing?
The question has been studied. The Board received and filed the findings in January 2020. No motion was made. See the Student Housing Feasibility Study, 2019.
