Student Government Association

The Student Government Association is the recognized student governance body. Its officers are elected each April, and it meets on the first and third Wednesday of each month during the fall and spring terms, in Room A-120. Meetings are open to enrolled students, and agendas are posted in DroverNet the week before.

Recognition

Recognition is granted by the Office of the Dean of Students on application of ten enrolled students and a faculty or staff adviser. Recognition carries meeting space scheduling, eligibility for activity fee funding, and use of the College name under the recognition agreement. Recognition is renewed each September by filing a current officer list, adviser confirmation, and a member count of at least ten. An organization that does not renew is listed as inactive for one year and then removed; an inactive organization may renew without reapplying. Two of the current twenty organizations have been reinstated from inactive status.

Activity fee funding is allocated by the Student Government Association’s finance committee from the student activity fee, $22 per term, published in the Schedule of Charges. Allocations are subject to the purchasing procedures of the College.

WDRO-LP, the College’s radio station, is operated through the WDRO Radio Club; see WDRO-LP 101.3 FM. The Commuter Council operates the ride board described at Transportation.
