Cosmetology Student Board

The Cosmetology Student Board coordinates student concerns within the Wing C clinic, administers the clinic’s cancellation list under the supervision of clinic faculty, and organizes the program’s participation in Drover Day, when the clinic is open at reduced rates.

History

• Organized in 2002. The Board’s cancellation list procedure, adopted in 2011, is incorporated into the clinic’s posted policies.
• The Board maintains the clinic waiting area’s magazine subscriptions under a budget line it has held since 2004. Titles are selected by annual vote of the Board and the vote is recorded in the minutes.

Officer lists are filed with the September recognition renewal; the roster below is as filed with the Office of the Dean of Students.

Jocelyn Ferro — Chair

Third-semester student, Cosmetology. Administers the cancellation list under clinic faculty supervision. List positions are not transferable.

Minnie Okafor — Secretary

Cosmetology. Records the annual magazine vote. The 2026 vote retired one title after twenty-two years.

Events

• Drover Day clinic — second Saturday of April.
• Senior Center service day — first Wednesday of each month, with clinic faculty.
