Health Services
The College does not operate a health clinic and does not employ medical personnel. Students arrange their own medical care. This page states what is available on campus and where care is available in the area.
Emergencies and first aid
In an emergency, dial 911 first, then notify Campus Safety at ext. 2911. Campus Safety officers are trained in first aid, CPR, and AED use, and respond on campus at any staffed hour. Emergency medical service is provided by the township fire department. Automated external defibrillators are located at seven points in College buildings; locations are posted at every exit. First aid kits are maintained in the Shop Building, Barn Complex B, the kitchens, the laboratories, and the Commons.
Care in the area
An urgent care in the village is open until 8:00 p.m. on weekdays. The nearest hospital and full-service emergency department are at the county seat, 12 miles from campus. Students at the Aviation and Heavy Equipment Annex should note that the Annex is 11 miles from the main campus; in an emergency at the Annex, dial 911 and notify the Annex office, ext. 2450.
Immunizations
The College has no general immunization requirement for enrollment. Certain programs carry requirements set by clinical sites, licensing bodies, or the nature of the work — including tetanus documentation and the hepatitis B series — which are stated on the program’s page and in the program handbook; see Programs. Costs of required immunizations are at student expense as stated in the Schedule of Charges.
Insurance
The College does not offer or broker student health insurance and does not require health insurance for enrollment. Students seeking coverage may review plans through the federal marketplace or through Ohio Medicaid; the Office of the Dean of Students maintains a county referral list. Accident insurance is required for athletic participation, $95 per year, as published in the Schedule of Charges.
Counseling
Counseling is available to enrolled students at no charge through the College’s contracted provider; see Counseling.
