In an emergency, dial 911 first, then notify Campus Safety.

The Department of Campus Safety is a non-sworn department. Officers do not carry firearms, do not make arrests, and have no police authority. Police response is provided by the Tolliver Township Police Department and, at the Annex, by the Tolliver County Sheriff’s Office. The College maintains a memorandum of understanding with both agencies, available for review in the Office of the President.

The department is staffed by two full-time and four part-time officers, from 6:30 a.m. to 10:30 p.m. Monday through Thursday, 6:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Friday, and during scheduled weekend instruction and events. The building is not staffed overnight.

Services

Daily crime log

The department maintains a daily crime log as required by the Jeanne Clery Act. The log is kept at Room A-108B and is available for public inspection during staffed hours; entries are made within two business days. The most recent 60 days are available on request without appointment; older entries are produced within two business days of a request.

Reporting

Criminal offenses, emergencies, and safety concerns may be reported to Campus Safety at ext. 2911 or to any College employee. Reporting routes, including anonymous reporting and reporting to the Title IX Coordinator, are collected at Report a Concern. Crime statistics and the College’s safety policy statements are published in the Annual Security Report, available in printed form from the department on request.

Emergency notification

DroverAlert delivers text and email notification for closures, severe weather, and incidents affecting campus safety. Enrollment is automatic for students and employees using the contact information on file; contact information may be updated in DroverNet. The system is tested twice each academic year and the results are published in the Annual Security Report.
