Commencement

The sixty-fifth annual commencement will be held Saturday, May 8, 2027, at 10:00 a.m. in Drover Court.

Attending

Tickets are not issued and there is no charge to attend. Seating is unreserved. Doors open at 9:00 a.m. and guests are asked to be seated by 9:45. The ceremony is approximately ninety minutes. Photography is permitted from seats; the floor is reserved for the contracted photographer.

Overflow parking is directed to the field east of Lot 9 and is signed. See Parking. The Perimeter Course is closed to walkers until 1:00 p.m. on the day of the ceremony.

Accessible seating is available through the east doors. Requests for interpreting services or other accommodations are made to Disability Services at least two weeks before the ceremony.

Candidates

Candidates apply to graduate through the Office of the Registrar by the deadline published in the academic calendar. The graduation application charge is $50. Regalia is required to process and is $42, retained by the graduate. Both charges are reproduced from the Schedule of Charges, which governs. There is no charge for attendance.

Honors are noted at 3.5 (cum laude), 3.7 (magna cum laude), and 3.9 (summa cum laude), calculated on coursework completed at the College. Completers of clock-hour programs are recognized without honors notation per policy; completers do not process but stand when named. Candidates cross the platform in program order. The order of programs was set in 1994 and has not been revisited.

The sixty-fourth annual commencement

The sixty-fourth annual commencement was held Saturday, May 9, 2026, in Drover Court. Three hundred nine candidates were presented by the Provost and awards were conferred by the President. Completions in the Mounted Patrol Equine Conditioning certificate are recorded to the sponsoring agency of record and are not included in this count. The Early Music Consort has performed the processional at every ceremony for which a program is on file.

The President’s Award, given to one graduate selected by the faculty, was presented to Priya Nkemdirim, Technical Diploma, Anomalous Property Remediation. The ceremony recognized the retirement of Gerald Pemble, Instructor, Monument and Grounds Services, 2011–2026. The processional was performed by the Early Music Consort. A reception followed in the Commons.

Printed programs from prior ceremonies are retained by the Office of the Registrar, beginning with the first, in 1963, and are available for review on request. Diplomas not collected at the ceremony are mailed to the address of record within six weeks.
