About the College

Bellweather College of Applied Technology is a public technical college chartered in 1961 under Chapter 3357 of the Ohio Revised Code as Bellweather Vocational Institute. It operates as the Tolliver Technical College District, Ohio district number 04-1962, and took its present name in 1988. The College is a political subdivision of the State of Ohio, governed by a Board of Trustees, and is accredited by the Council on Occupational and Technical Accreditation.

The College prepares students for employment in occupations requiring technical instruction. It awards the Associate of Applied Science degree, technical diplomas, technical certificates, and short-term certificates, and provides workforce training and continuing education to employers and residents of its service district. Programs are developed and reviewed with employer advisory committees. The College does not offer baccalaureate instruction.

The service district is Tolliver County. The main campus is at 1400 Corliss Pike, on the north edge of the village of Bellweather, one half mile from the village center. The campus is 41 acres; the principal building, constructed in 1971 and acquired by the College in 1994, is 214,000 square feet. Interior wayfinding conventions date from the building’s prior occupancy and were retained on acquisition. The Aviation and Heavy Equipment Annex, at 8 County Airport Road in Tolliver Township, is 11 miles from the main campus and is leased from the township.
