Collections

The Library maintains a circulating collection of trade, technical, and general reference titles supporting the College’s programs of instruction, together with the online catalog and subscription databases accessible on campus and through DroverNet.

Trade standards collection
Current ASTM, ANSI, and IATA standards are available under institutional subscription. Standards are for in-library and on-campus use and may not be reproduced beyond the terms of the subscription agreements.
Databases
Subscription databases are listed in the online catalog. Off-campus access requires a DroverNet login.
Media collection
The Library holds trade instructional titles on VHS for which no replacement edition exists in another format. Playback equipment is available in the reading room and does not circulate. Institutional records predating the College’s move to the Corliss Pike facility are available on microfilm at the service desk; a reader is provided.

Borrowing and replacement

Circulating items are loaned for three weeks and may be renewed twice unless requested by another borrower. Reserve items circulate as posted by the instructor. A lost or damaged item is charged at the cost of the item plus a $15 processing charge, per the Schedule of Charges. Unresolved library charges are referred to the Office of the Bursar.

Interlibrary loan

Materials not held by the Library may be requested through interlibrary loan at no charge to the student. Requests are ordinarily filled within one to two weeks. Standards documents and audiovisual materials are frequently excluded by lending libraries.

Tutoring center

Tutoring in mathematics, writing, and program coursework is available in Room A-162 at no charge to enrolled students. Appointments are scheduled through the Tutoring Coordinator, ext. 2276. Drop-in hours are posted each term.

Testing center

The Testing Center, located in Wing B, administers placement testing, make-up examinations, and proctored testing for accommodated students. Proctoring for examinations not associated with a BCAT course is $25 per session, per the Schedule of Charges, and is scheduled through the Testing Center Coordinator, ext. 2274.

Study rooms

Four group study rooms adjoin the reading room and may be reserved at the service desk for up to two hours per day per group. Unreserved rooms are available first come, first served.
