The Commons.

Bellweather College of Applied Technology is a commuter institution. Student life programming is scheduled around the instructional day and the practicum calendar, and is supported by the student activity fee, $22 per term, as published in the Schedule of Charges. The fee has not changed since fall 2019.

Student organizations

The College recognizes 20 student organizations. Recognition is granted by the Office of the Dean of Students on application of ten enrolled students and a faculty or staff adviser, and carries meeting space scheduling, activity fee funding eligibility, and use of the College name under the recognition agreement. The Student Government Association is the recognized student governance body; its officers are elected each April and it meets on the first and third Wednesday of each month during fall and spring terms, in Room A-120. Meetings are open to enrolled students.

The Commons

The Commons, on the lower level of Wing A, is the College’s food service. It is operated by the College and is not contracted, and there is no meal plan. Hours during fall and spring terms are Monday–Thursday 7:30 a.m.–2:00 p.m. and 4:30–6:30 p.m., and Friday 7:30 a.m.–1:00 p.m. The Commons is closed weekends, during the winter closure, and between terms. Payment is by card or cash; DroverNet accounts may be used at the register.

Four microwaves and two refrigerators in the Commons are available for student use. Refrigerators are emptied every Friday at 1:00 p.m. and the contents discarded, without exception and without prior notice to owners. Vending is available in Wing A, the Shop Building, and outside Drover Court; only the machine outside Drover Court accepts cards. There is no food service at the Aviation and Heavy Equipment Annex. Housing

The College does not operate student housing and has not housed students since 1991. Students are responsible for arranging their own housing. The Office of Student Affairs maintains an off-campus housing list, a moderated roommate board in DroverNet, and tenant rights information, described at /student-life/housing. Inclusion of a listing is not a recommendation, and the College makes no representation as to any property or landlord.

If you do not have stable housing

Housing instability is not a disciplinary matter and is not reported to your instructors. Students in this situation are asked to contact the Dean of Students, Terrence Wickstrum, Room A-130, ext. 2140. The conversation is not recorded in your academic file. The College can arrange emergency assistance grants through the Foundation, schedule flexibility, counseling at no charge, and referral to the Tolliver County Continuum of Care coordinated entry line, (330) 555-0155, which is the county’s single point of access to shelter and rapid rehousing and operates 24 hours. The Drover Pantry, Room A-141, is open to all enrolled students with no eligibility requirement. Full information is at /student-life/housing/assistance.
