If you do not have stable housing

Housing instability is not a disciplinary matter and is not reported to your instructors. Students in this situation are asked to contact the Dean of Students, Terrence Wickstrum, Room A-130, ext. 2140. The conversation is not recorded in your academic file.

The College is small and its direct resources are limited. What it can do:

• Emergency assistance grants through the Bellweather College Foundation for a security deposit, first month’s rent, a utility reconnection, or a hotel night. Applications are reviewed within two business days. The award limit is $600 per student per year.
• The Drover Pantry, Room A-141, open to all enrolled students without eligibility requirement, and to College employees.
• Referral to the Tolliver County Continuum of Care coordinated entry line, (330) 555-0155, which is the county’s single point of access to shelter and rapid rehousing, and which is independent of the College.
• Counseling at no charge, six sessions per year, through the College’s contracted provider, Room A-138, Tuesdays and Thursdays.
• Academic flexibility — schedule changes, section transfers, incompletes, and practicum rescheduling, arranged through the Dean of Students without requiring you to explain your circumstances to each instructor individually.
• FAFSA review — a change in your housing or family circumstances may change your aid eligibility. Financial Aid, ext. 2170, can file a professional judgment adjustment.

If you are in immediate danger, call 911. If you need shelter tonight and it is outside business hours, the county coordinated entry line operates 24 hours.
