The College provides non-credit training to employers, incumbent workers, and the public. Non-credit offerings operate on their own registration and billing, separate from the academic calendar and the Registrar. Enrollment in a non-credit offering does not constitute admission to the College. Training that takes place at the Aviation and Heavy Equipment Annex is coordinated through the same office; Annex participants should confirm session times directly with the office, as general campus announcements do not reliably reach the Annex.

Customized training for employers

The College develops and delivers training under contract for employers: safety courses, equipment operation, food handling, supervisory skills, and program-specific technical content drawn from the College’s instructional divisions. Delivery is on campus or at the employer’s site. Contract training is priced per the cost model available from the Office of Workforce Training; instructor time, materials, and facility charges are itemized in the agreement. Employers seeking a course the College does not currently offer may request a development consultation. Requests outside the College’s instructional capacity are declined at the consultation stage. Most requests are not outside it, though some are.

Short courses

The non-credit short course catalog is published each term with rolling enrollment. Offerings vary by term and include trade skills, computer applications, and community education courses. Registration: /workforce/register.

Certification testing hosted on campus

The College hosts third-party testing for ServSafe, OSHA 10- and 30-hour cards, AWS welding qualification, ACCUPLACER, and Pearson VUE examinations. Testing is conducted under the vendor’s rules and fees; the College’s proctoring charge for non-BCAT examinations is $25, as published in the Schedule of Charges. Certification is granted by the issuing body, not by the College.

License renewal continuing education

The College is an approved provider of continuing education for Ohio cosmetology license renewal, funeral director license renewal, and commercial nuisance wild animal control operator renewal. Course dates and reporting procedures are published at /workforce/license-renewal. Completion is reported to the relevant state board as the board’s rules require; licensees remain responsible for confirming their own renewal status with the board.

Apprenticeship related instruction

The College delivers related technical instruction for registered apprenticeship programs under agreements with their sponsors. Enrollment is by sponsor referral. The sponsor, not the College, is the apprenticeship program of record. Sponsor list and inquiries: /workforce/apprenticeship.

Continuing education units

CEUs are awarded at the standard rate of one CEU per ten contact hours and are recorded on a non-credit transcript maintained by the Office of Workforce Training, available on request at no charge. The non-credit transcript is separate from the academic transcript issued by the Registrar.

Funding

Non-credit training may be eligible for funding through WIOA individual training accounts, OhioMeansJobs Tolliver County, trade adjustment assistance, or employer tuition assistance. See workforce funding, or contact the office before registering; funding approved after registration cannot be applied retroactively. The OhioMeansJobs office in the county seat closes at 4:30 p.m. and is not served by evening transit.
