Customized training for employers
Office of Workforce Training and Continuing Education · Room A-112 · ext. 2310 · workforce@bellweather.tech
The College develops and delivers training under contract for employers: safety courses, equipment operation, food handling, supervisory skills, and technical content drawn from the College’s instructional divisions. Training is delivered on campus or at the employer’s site. Employers requesting on-campus delivery for groups located near the Aviation and Heavy Equipment Annex should note that general notifications distributed through the College’s announcement systems do not reliably reach that location; the office communicates scheduling to those groups by telephone.
Process
1. Inquiry. Employers contact the office at ext. 2310 or workforce@bellweather.tech with the subject matter, the number of employees, and the preferred timeframe.
2. Needs assessment. The office conducts a needs assessment with the employer, at no charge and without obligation, covering the work to be trained for, the employees’ current qualifications, any applicable regulatory requirement, and the delivery site. Requests outside the College’s instructional capacity are declined at this stage.
3. Proposal and agreement. The office issues a written proposal priced per the College’s cost model; instructor time, materials, and facility charges are itemized in the agreement. A signed agreement or purchase order is required before the first session.
4. Delivery. Instruction is scheduled around the employer’s shift pattern where practicable. For on-site delivery, the employer provides an adequate instructional space with sufficient light and a means of posting required notices, and is responsible for site safety conditions; equipment used in instruction must be in serviceable condition and available for the scheduled sessions.
Invoicing
Employers are invoiced under the agreement on net 30 terms; see workforce training funding. Ohio employers may apply to the state TechCred program for reimbursement of eligible credential-bearing training costs; application is made by the employer to the state, and the College provides completion documentation on request.
Records
The College provides the employer a roster, attendance records, and certificates of completion for participants who complete the training. CEUs are awarded where the offering qualifies, at one CEU per ten contact hours, and are recorded on the participant’s non-credit transcript.
