Applied Clowning Student Company

The Company is the performing organization of the Applied Clowning program. Membership is open to students enrolled in the program; students in other programs may join as technical members. The Company performs at College events and, under the program’s clinical standards, does not perform in hospital settings — hospital rotation work is coursework, not Company activity, and is supervised separately.

History

• Organized in 1998. The Company has worked the Fall Kickoff as its first public assignment of each year since 2003.
• The Company maintains the character registry. A character retired by a graduating member is not assumed by another member. The registry is kept in the Division office and is not published.

Officer lists are filed with the September recognition renewal; the roster below is as filed with the Office of the Dean of Students.

Alma Petrocelli — Company Manager

Third-semester student, Applied Clowning — Character concentration. Her character was approved on first review, which the program Chair notes is uncommon. She schedules all Company engagements through the Division office.

Douglas Ebey — Stage Manager

Technical member; Welding and Fabrication. Maintains the prop and armor shop loan log for Company use. Props travel in the cases he built for them.

Bernice Tally — Kit Steward

Applied Clowning. Inspects members’ kits before each engagement. A kit that fails inspection does not travel; the standard is the program’s, not hers.
