Prospective student-athletes
Students interested in competing for the Drovers should complete the prospective student-athlete questionnaire. The questionnaire is available from the Department of Athletics, Room A-202, ext. 2200, or by email to athletics@bellweather.tech, and may be returned the same ways. Completed questionnaires are forwarded to the head coach of the sport indicated. Coaches respond as roster planning allows; a response is not guaranteed.
What the questionnaire asks
Name and contact information; high school or prior college and expected graduation or transfer date; sport, with position or event; intended program of study at the College; and, for applicants under 18, the name and contact information of a parent or guardian. Highlight film is not requested and is not reviewed for sports the College does not sponsor.
Admission
Admission to the College is by the standard application; see How to Apply. Athletic participation does not affect admission. Admission to the College and admission to a program of study are separate from athletic participation, and completion of the questionnaire creates no enrollment right and no roster position.
Eligibility
Student-athletes must meet NJCAA academic eligibility standards, including enrollment in at least 12 credit hours during the season of competition and satisfactory progress toward a credential. Eligibility is certified by the Registrar before the first contest. A physical examination dated within one year, at the student’s expense, and the required accident insurance ($95 per year) must be on file before the first practice. The athletic participation charge is $150 per sport, per season, as published in the Schedule of Charges. Transfer eligibility is governed by NJCAA rules; prospective transfers should contact the Director of Athletics before enrolling, not after.
Athletic scholarships
Consistent with NJCAA Division III rules, the College awards no athletic scholarships, and no coach or staff member is authorized to offer one. The Drover Club Grant-in-Aid, administered by the Foundation, provides up to $500 to student-athletes in good standing, applied to fees and travel and not to tuition, per NJCAA Division III rules. Need-based and merit aid available to all students is described under Cost & Aid.
Campus visits
Prospective student-athletes may arrange a campus visit through the Athletics office at least five business days in advance. A visit ordinarily includes an admissions information session, a campus tour, and a meeting with the head coach as schedules allow. Visitors may observe a practice with the coach’s prior approval. The College does not pay travel, lodging, or meal costs of prospective student-athletes or their families, and does not conduct overnight visits.
