Movable Bridge And Lock Operation.
A substantive change application for this program is pending before the Council on Occupational and Technical Accreditation. Enrollment is not open. Joining an interest list creates no enrollment rights and no fee obligation.

Operation of bascule, lift, and swing bridges and of navigation locks. Opening protocol and marine radio procedure, traffic control interface, hydraulic and mechanical systems monitoring, log requirements, and coordination with the U.S. Coast Guard under 33 CFR 117.

Field instruction is conducted at two movable bridges under agreement with their operating authorities; students should expect travel and shift-pattern scheduling, including instruction between midnight and 6:00 a.m., when commercial traffic predominates.

Facilities and instruction

Machine Shop.

Instruction is delivered in the facilities of the Division of Building, Structures and Site Services. Additional photographs are collected at Campus photographs.
