Community Use of Facilities
Emergency shelter designation
Drover Court is a designated Tolliver County emergency shelter under agreement with the county Emergency Management Agency and the American Red Cross. The College maintains shelter supplies for 140 persons and participates in the county’s annual shelter exercise. When Drover Court is activated as a shelter, it is unavailable for rental or other scheduled use.
Rental facilities
The Black Box and the chapel are available to community groups at posted rates; nonprofit rates are available. Drover Court and classrooms may also be rented when not required for instruction. Current rates are published in the schedule of charges under Facility and service charges. Rental requests are made to the Facilities Department, ext. 2120; a certificate of insurance is required for all rentals.
Meeting rooms
Meeting rooms are available to governmental and civic organizations at no charge on a space-available basis. The Tolliver Township trustees hold their February and August meetings in Room A-120, an arrangement dating to 1998. No written agreement governs the arrangement; room assignment is confirmed each year by the Facilities Department.
Perimeter Course
The Perimeter Course is open to public walkers dawn to dusk except during scheduled competition. There is no charge for use of the Perimeter Course.
Rifle range
The rifle range is made available to county 4-H shooting sports and to two scout troops under supervision agreements. Use of the range by these groups requires a College supervisor to be present; scheduling is coordinated through the Division office. It is not otherwise open to the public.
