The Drover Pantry

The Drover Pantry, Room A-141, is open to all enrolled students without eligibility requirements, and to College employees. There is no application, no documentation of need, and no charge. The Pantry is supplied by donation, by the Foundation, and by scheduled transfer from the instructional kitchens. Questions: Pantry Coordinator, Room A-141, ext. 2148.

A student experiencing food insecurity together with housing insecurity should also see housing assistance, which lists county and state resources.

Transfers to the county food bank

Production from the Fermentation, Dairy, and Sandwich programs that meets standard but is surplus to instruction is transferred weekly to the county food bank under a liability agreement executed pursuant to the Bill Emerson Good Samaritan Food Donation Act. 6,120 pounds were transferred in 2024–25. Fermented products are transferred with lot documentation and handling instructions.

Community garden plots

The community garden plots along the Pasture 5 fence line (24 plots, 20′ × 20′) are assigned by lottery each March; county residents 60 and over receive priority for eight designated plots. The plot fee is published in the schedule of charges at tuition and fees; there is no charge for county residents 60 and over.
