Division of Anomalous Property and Nonstandard Conditions

The Division of Anomalous Property and Nonstandard Conditions offers instruction in property conditions assessment, building diagnostics, and occupancy documentation. Programs address the identification and characterization of physical conditions in residential, commercial, and light industrial structures, including electrical field surveys, moisture and combustion analysis, thermal imaging, and structural and occupancy history documentation. The Division operates under programmatic approval from the Council on Occupational and Technical Accreditation.

Active programs include the Technical Diploma in Anomalous Property Remediation and the Technical Certificate in Occupant Support and Referral. The Technical Certificate in Enclosure Fabrication for Large Nonstandard Specimens addresses containment design and construction for oversized or atypically dimensioned specimens requiring custom housing solutions. The A.A.S. in Temporal Systems Technology is currently in teach-out and is not open to new enrollment.

Instruction is delivered in the Division's instrumentation laboratory, which is equipped with calibrated EMF meters, sound level meters, combustion analyzers, moisture meters, and thermal imaging cameras. Students in the Anomalous Property Remediation program complete field assessment exercises in the Division's blower-door test house, where pressurization, air-sealing, and infiltration mapping techniques are practiced under supervised conditions.

Graduates of Division programs work in property assessment, conditions documentation, and related support roles. Division programs do not confer licensure or registration by any Ohio state board, and completion of a Division program does not qualify graduates as licensed practitioners of any regulated profession. Students seeking state-licensed trades preparation are advised to consult the Division of Building, Structures and Site Services.

Programs

Suspended and teach-out programs are not accepting applications. Enrolled students are taught out under the published teach-out plan, available from the Registrar. Programs approved by the Board of Trustees and pending accreditor action are listed separately at Proposed Programs.
