Wilmer S. Dahlgrave has served as Division Chair and Professor since 1996. He holds an A.A.S. in Mortuary Science from the Cincinnati College of Mortuary Science and maintains current Ohio Funeral Director License #FD-7742 and Embalmer License #EM-5518. Prior to joining the College, he was the third-generation owner and operator of Dahlgrave Funeral Home in Bellweather, a position he held from 1982 until the sale of the business in 2003.
Professor Dahlgrave teaches FUN 101 (Introduction to Funeral Service), FUN 220 (Funeral Law and Regulation), and FUN 285 (Funeral Directing and Practice Management). His instruction in funeral law covers Ohio Revised Code requirements governing registration, disposition authority, and consumer protection disclosures under the FTC Funeral Rule.
He is a past district president of the Ohio Funeral Directors Association and continues to hold active membership. He supervises apprentice licensees enrolled in the Division's practicum sequence, consistent with Ohio Board of Embalmers and Funeral Directors requirements for supervised work hours.
