Lyle B. Fortenot has served as Division Chair and Professor in the Division of Investigative and Protective Services since 2010. He holds a B.S. in Criminal Justice from Tiffin University. Before joining the College, he spent 24 years with the Ohio Department of Insurance, Fraud and Enforcement Division, retiring as regional supervising investigator.

Professor Fortenot teaches INV 101 (Introduction to Insurance and Claims) and INV 240 (Fraud Indicators and Case Development). His instruction draws on direct experience in complaint intake procedures, field investigation protocols, and the referral of cases to the Ohio Attorney General's office.

He holds an Ohio private investigator license, Class A, #PI-4406, which he maintains in active status. As Division Chair, he coordinates scheduling, field placement agreements, and program review submissions to Institutional Effectiveness.
